External Anatomy Elderly

The atrial chambers increase in size in the elderly, as shown in C and D. The arrows indicate the interventricular sulcus. Other cardiovascular changes observed with aging include dilatation of the great vessels and atherosclerosis of the aorta and coronary arteries.
